a few things

hey everybody,

is it just us -- or is nobody getting what they need regarding shipping? btw just tells us to "email them" and make "low/out forms" but seriously, how are you supposed to know what you need if the posters aren't even listed on the pages anymore? we've been out of so many things and its really hurting our sales. called them today and expressed this but they just gave me the rhetoric of emailing and low and out forms. we were outta sticky tack for a week! i have no idea what they are doing in the warehouse this year.

also -- how is inventory even going to work? some things aren't even in the computer or we can't find them. the company doesn't even know exactly what we have since we loaded our own trucks. like, we're a B team but have a couple of books that are A books and C books. we're worried about this all at the end. will we get charged? how will they know what is shrinkage and what is computer error?

anybody hitting their projections? we did the first two days this week, but now its a downward slope. we have an outdoor sale with NO RAIN LOCATION. they told us to "use tarps" and pretty much "deal with it." most asinine thing ever. we want to stick it through to get some money, but is this even worth it at this point?

also, anyone get the email that regarding our DOT LOG BOOKS -- if we take a "day off" we don't get paid! last year we just didn't even turn them in. i think that's the plan this year, or just lie in them completely. has anyone ever really gotten stopped by dot? have they even looked at your book? if you rent a moving truck you don't fill out a log book. in all the years we've done this, never gotten pulled over for anything (keepin' fingers crossed for this one).

just kind of stressed out. FTW BTW!

ps: how is biggie smoking a blunt the TOP SELLER from last year at a "very conservative" college?

  1. we're about to go to a theological seminary where 'megan fox' is the top seller. despite the fact we can't have it out.

we haven't done any logbooks. oops. we're out of our top sellers. the inventory is totally whack.

chad sent an email saying we have to show up for work on time. next week he's going to send ones telling us we have to show up for work.

  2. Ha! It seems like people have been breaking the rules across the board. Guess you can follow suit.
You know what's funny, is that we got a shipment of tack yesterday even though today was our last day of selling before we return our truck to stroudsburg. Should've sent that tack to you. We only sold 2 packs of it.
In regards to is it worth it... I've had second thoughts since quitting. we lost our first weeks commission of $750 plus our 1.5% from the last two weeks would be $650 each, so we're giving all of that up to have our freedom. AND we have to repay them for our plane tickets to orientation AND figure out our own ways home from Stroudsburg. It definitely feels stressful. But we were SO miserable doing this job and so angry about how much we were getting fucked over by unrealistic projections and a greedy company. We're both totally relieved about it, and I'm just trying not to think about the money we lost by quitting. So yeah... The sooner you quit, the more freedom you have and the less money you lose... I mean, even just totally slacking once you realize you won't make your numbers will hurt the company really significantly. I'm sure we lost them SOOO much money these past two weeks.
Also, I'm not sure what you're talking about with the DOT books. I'm pretty sure the company doesn't give a shit if you fill them out or not, as long as you don't get caught. it seems like chad's email was just responding to some folks who thought they had to mail pages from the books into the company for some strange reason.... what's this about not getting paid for "day off"?

  3. We've been told to keep good logs on the school survey's so when we go back to talk about commission they will apparently take the fact that we were out of ummmmmmm EVERY FUCKING THING for days in to account.

Also keep copies of your inventory logs to show them yourself when we go back.

we've hit our projections maybe 4 days total and it's totally their fault.

and we didn't remove the conservative shit for our last conservie school and it's all the kids bought.

one half of the team is doing the log book, the other half is waiting for the first half to do it for them. we drive without the magnet signs on the side of the truck cause we're not tryin to drawl attention to ourselves. everyone thinks we're moving. but a truck driver told us we get charged $75 for every 15 mins the log is off.

whatever, i'll do it tomorrow :)

    fuck btw

  4. this is the email about the log books from michelle:

"It is my understanding that we misunderstood the regulations for the passenger in the truck,
my apologizes, every year we are working to get better at this but it will take time.
the passenger is on duty not driving. please correct your log books
it is vital that you utilize your student helpers to get days off to fall within guidelines for your log books.

One team member can work with student helpers/floaters at sales while the other takes the day off.
If you have to take a day off you are not docked in your weekly salary."

seriously.. fuck that! how can you actually take a day off? it would be so shitty to make your partner do all the work and you just walk around campus or whatever. you cant really take "a day off" doing this job.

  5. As a truck driver we should mail our weeks hours logged in our books to our company so they can keep record as we work. Seeing how BTW does not give a shit, we just hold on to them and they...well, shred them in November to make it look like they were doing what DOT says to do. The reason why we need to keep them is because we are 2 tons over the limit of a normal moving truck. We are under the 26 limit for needing a CDL. Thus, we fall in the center. A moving truck (one which someone would use, to say, move their home) would not need one because they don't use the vehicle longer than a month, whereas, we do. That's why those "Ryder Agreements" get sent to us. The Ryder guys say we don't need to use the log because BTW doesn't tell them the weight of the merchandise we carry. So, the DOT cares because they want money from use out of fines, BTW cares because they don't want that money taken from them. It's cut-throat corporate greed braking the "rules" that the state has put in place to generate revenue...and we are just caught in the center hoping either one doesn't place the blame on us so that those fines come out of our pockets. No matter the way we look at it, we are being lied to in order to lie to the next liar. This is why we must be the best liar and then they will cut each other. Sneak out.

  6. 'every year we are getting better at this'

um, how long have they been doing this and really it's harder because the people running this company are completely and totally retarded. it isn't hard, they just make it that way.
