ReplyDeleteWe are not fans of the new system. It's incredible how they managed to turn what was already a fuckton of work into even harder work. Oh and they said there "won't be any damaged posters" but lord help you if you pull a single poster out and have to then put it back. I've slept nine hours in the last two days, but have worked nearly thirty. awesome.
In other news, the school we're at has cops with K9s goin through dorms the first two weeks of school, after that they just randomly do it.
I wanna hear what people have to say too: are you making your numbers? has stella yelled at you yet (she's so charming) ? are you questioning your sanity? do you loathe college kids yet?

My fingers are going to be nuns by the end of this. Can all the teams combine together and threaten to jump ship unless the up our ante? We haven't even come close to hitting our numbers but I'm not too worried about that. The sleep is a different story though. I say we raise hell. Or just TAKE THE MONEY an run.
ReplyDeleteour legs are covered in so many bruises i cant even remember what my real skin color is. thank god for the student helpers, they saved our asses yesterday (all for a few shitty posters... they had no idea what they were agreeing to) one dude actually lugged that grey medium poster box (the devil himself) into the truck without any help!!
ReplyDeletewe had to call off our sale today because driving for 12 hours through the night to be able to set up a billion pounds of posters by 9 am was beyond our physical capabilities. our gas card has been declining so we've had to use money from our food money to keep truckin'. who knows how long we're gonna last. team dead girls might really be dead by the end of this if we don't follow the pirate path before that. this sucks, we're gonna take the money and run.
by the way we cant even pull posters with out opening our paper cuts and bleeding all over the place

ReplyDeleteThis shit is obsurd! The new system is absolutely atrocious. Everyone knows the number one rule in retail is to get the product in the customers hands and they will buy it. The only reason they went to tjoathis new system is Patrick could not afford to buy new books foe the posters. Also the new set that they boasted about is total shit. They've managed to pepper in a few new posters in, but its the same shit we had last year and in the spring; Breaking Benjamin, Lane Staley? WTF? There us no order at all to the set. It seems as if they threw things together last minute. Which is what actually happened. TAKE THE MONEY while you can people, because BTW will not be in business too much longer.

On the topic of DOT stuff, we recently got nailed with a pretty hefty citation because our DOT logs weren't up to date to the hour/shift, just the previous driving day. Nearly $500 in fines before our first paycheck... awesome! BTW had better fucking cover that shit as David's email doesn't address this technicality. My advice to all teams is STAY AWAY FROM WEIGH STATIONS!!!
ReplyDelete1. Stay away from weigh stations. Those with the bigger trucks might actually have to stop sometimes...but keep your books up to date as much as possible if you are stopping. These fines aren't good. One thing that I've heard worked in the past is to explain very politely that your company didn't properly train you in filling out the DOT logs...which they didn't. This might save your ass some money...BTW will only get a small reprimand from the DOT.
ReplyDelete2. Everyone make demands now if you want them. I suggest ask for them in the form of a raised salary rather than commission. Who knows if that's even a real thing at this point considering it looks like the company is going under.
3. Treat yourselves well until BTW offers to treat you better. No reason why their ONLY sales people at this point should be treated poorly. Be creative ya know?
4. It's is probably better for money making for everyone if you stay on the road in the long run. They need the sales teams and if you need the money they should be paying more than 4 bucks an hour.
