Be careful about what you say and do in front of your computer!
There has been speculation that the microphone and camera are enabled in order to spy on us! We know they COULD do it if they wanted, but we don't know if they are.
BEWARE! THE MICHELLE (might be) IS WATCHING!
i know it sounds silly, but team wild dick put tape in front of their cam. I'm pretty sure there's a little light that comes on when the cam is on tho, and usually the computer you are on will alert you. It would take some premeditated hardware and software work I think. Not impossible, but unlikely as of currently. They looked pretty busy and not all that together this year.
team rainbow horsies checking in with another friendly tip. if you're concerned about being recorded with the mic, you can log in to the RA account with the password r3ta1L (notice the dorky leet speak. lolz.) open up control panel > device manager > sound video and game controllers > right click conextant > properties > drivers tab > and disable the driver. that should make it so they can't remotely listen in with your mic. power to the people.
They are smarter than you think sometimes! I don't think taking these precautions are crazy or bad.
One year (2008) BTW reps came to certain sales to "surprise us" - the company was under different ownership then, but it did happen a few times on our run that year. The reps that came criticized everything we were doing and watched us like hawks, it was pretty terrible. They only did this in areas fairly close to the warehouse, though + not sure if they'd do it again, but just a heads up!
