can anyone make us feel better (or worse) about the fact that we talked to the sponsor of our last sale (5 days) only to find out that not only do we have NO storage room/space/corner but we also (as it stands right now) only have a half hour to unload in the mornings because we have to have the truck off the loading area before students get there (7:30 am). oh, did i mention the parking lot we've been designated to is across a river?
is there some sort of secret we have yet to unlock to make this bearable? can someone verify that this is doable/has been done? heck, who has it worse than us to remind us that shit can always go downhill?!

pps- sorry to whine - we're kind of wallowing in self-pity at the moment!
Last year I worked 11 straight days outside (no storage room) from 7am to 9pm (unloading, sale, loading, counting/paperwork). And that fucking sucked. We didn't make our projections by 3K and so our commission fucking sucked. Still, we made BTW 45K. Oh yea, we couldn't sell anything BUT posters (no tapestries, frames, etc) and had 8 tables. Take Justice.
ReplyDeletei dont get it when this happens, like some schools make it hard on us on purpose -- or btw just doesnt tell them what's up. half of them dont even realize we have a box truck, or that setup/unload usually takes 2 hrs.
ReplyDeleteif the school doesnt want us there/thinks we're a nuisance.. then why do we even come? i realize it's all about money, but hell, some schools you are totally treated like dirt and it sucks.
